After a smooth trip, I'm in New Orleans! The whole group is staying on Loyola University's campus, so we're in a very nice area of the city. Once everyone arrived on campus, we all took the St. Charles streetcar to Superior Grill for dinner. We had good Mexican food (I had the taco dinner with chicken and vegetables). The vegetables were salted and grilled, and they were really good. After dinner we took a cab over to the Wal-mart to get supplies and some food.
Once we got back (waited for the cab for half an hour) and unpacked everything, we hung out in the communal area in the girls' suite. A few of the Yale students who are living on the fifth floor came up to say hi, so we met part of the group that's here for ten weeks. Some of the group went to The Boot, which is supposed to have good beer deals.
Tomorrow we're doing test runs to our work places, and then we're taking a bus tour of New Orleans.

Fingers Crossed for a Smooth Trip
It's the night before I leave for New Orleans! I've just been packing and trying to fit as much stuff as possible into my luggage while keeping it under 50 pounds. I've actually resorted to a packing technique that calls for rolling clothes. I guess it kind of works because I've gotten slightly more space, but still not enough for a pillow.
For those who don't know, I'll be in New Orleans for two months courtesy of DukeEngage. I'll be working at the Southern Food and Beverage Museum located by the Riverwalk Marketplace. I'm not completely sure what I'll be doing, but I'm excited to help out in any way that I can.
